The Brief:

  • A&O Shearman launches Australian real estate practice.

  • Dannelle Howley joins from Squire Patton Boggs to lead the team

A&O Shearman has made a strategic play in Australia’s property market, hiring Dannelle Howley from Squire Patton Boggs to launch a dedicated real estate practice in Sydney.

Howley brings experience advising listed and unlisted property funds, private capital and government clients on complex, structured and large-scale transactions.

Commenting on the move, A&O Shearman Australia co-managing partner Jason Denisenko said:

“Sydney’s real estate market is dynamic, competitive and primed for growth. Establishing a dedicated practice here is a natural next step for us. Dannelle is a standout talent in the market, and her arrival strengthens our team and deepens our ability to support clients across sectors.”

Howley, set to start in November, is returning to A&O, where she served for 4 years as Counsel before joining Squires as Parter in 2016.
