The move strengthens the firm's national and Asia-Pacific restructuring, special situations and governance capability.
Ashurst has snapped up Carmen Boothman as a partner in its Restructuring, Special Situations & Governance (RSSG) practice in Perth.
Boothman brings more than 15 years' experience across restructurings, turnarounds, insolvency, secured lending and the banking regulatory landscape.
Her recent work includes acting for the court-appointed receivers and liquidators of a $1bn international pension custodian and financial services licensee, involving misappropriation of funds and suspected financial misconduct.
She joins from HWL Ebsworth, where she's been a partner since 2022.
Ashurst Global CEO Paul Jenkins said he was "really pleased" to welcome Boothman, noting her arrival "further strengthens our Perth practice and adds depth to our closely integrated national, Asia-Pacific and global RSSG team."
