Ashurst Perkins Coie has bolstered its litigation practice, appointing JK Muckersie as a partner in Melbourne.

Muckersie brings a strong track record across commercial disputes, regulatory investigations and enforcement action. Her practice spans major contractual disputes, corporations matters, property and leasing disputes, and financial services regulatory work.

She recently acted for ASIC in its Federal Court proceedings against HSBC Bank Australia, which resulted in a $35m penalty and adverse publicity orders over the bank’s failure to protect customers from unauthorised payments.

She joins from Clayton Utz, where she spent over 12 years, rising from graduate to partner earlier this year.

APAC Head of Complex Litigation Ian Bolster said the hire deepens the firm’s bench at a key moment for the practice.
