The Brief:
Baker McKenzie nabs Miles Wadley
He lands as the head of project finance at the firm
Baker McKenzie has snapped up Miles Wadley to lead its project finance team in Melbourne, marking its third major banking and finance hire this year.
Wadley, an infrastructure and energy specialist, has acted on some of the market’s biggest deals — from Marinus Link’s $3.8bn financing to ACEN Australia’s $750m green portfolio financing and HMC Capital’s buy of Neoen’s Victorian assets.
National managing partner Anne-Marie Allgrove said Wadley strengthens the firm’s national energy and finance bench, adding he’s acted for “sponsors, arrangers and financiers” across renewables, PPPs and privatisations.
Wadley spent almost nine years as a partner at HSF Kramer, with earlier stints in Melbourne, New York, and time in-house at Babcock & Brown, plus secondments to AustralianSuper and Transurban.
HSF Kramer thanked Wadley for his contribution and wished him well.
The move follows Bakers adding Hamish McCormack in July, Bryan Paisley in February, and energy partner Sarah Birrell last month.
