The Brief:
Clayton Utz has poached Allens co-head of equity capital
HSF Kramer senior partner David Gray to fill the breach
Clayton Utz has landed a major ECM lawyer, with Allens co-head of equity capital markets Bryn Hardcastle jumping ship in Perth.
The Big 6 firm confirmed it will add Hardcastle and counsel Dave Filov to its partnership.
At Allens, Hardcastle was a go-to for resource capital raisings.
His recent work includes advising Minerals 260 on its Bullabulling gold project acquisition, Liontown Resources amid Albemarle’s $5.5bn takeover bid, and Newmont on the sale of a 10.2% stake in Greatland Resources.
Filov ASX specialist for listed mining and resources companies. A former Principal Adviser in the ASX Listings Compliance unit, he has worked across IPOs, placements, dual listings, reverse takeovers, M&A and secondary capital raisings.
As the duo departs, Allens hasn’t wasted time responding
David Gray, a senior partner from HSF Kramer, is set to join Allens.
Gray is an HSF Kramer veteran, having joined the firm in 2001 and worked across Melbourne, London and Perth during his career.
His practice covers takeovers and schemes, ECM and broader M&A.
“We thank David for his valued contribution to our firm. We wish David all the best in his next role,” said Matthew FitzGerald, managing partner for corporate, Australia and Asia.
Another sharp reminder that the battle for top-tier talent is still very much on.
