The life insurance expert bolsters the firm's national insurance offering.
Clyde & Co has appointed Jessica Thurtell as a partner in its Sydney office, bringing across the life insurance and financial lines specialist from DLA Piper.
Thurtell steps up from senior associate at DLA Piper, bringing close to 15 years of insurance experience across in-house and private practice roles, with a core focus on life insurance, management liability and complex litigation for large insurers.
Before DLA Piper, she spent four years as special counsel at Moray & Agnew and held an in-house role on Westpac's BT Legal team.
Her work spans Royal Commission responses, remediation programmes and significant litigation, including acting as coverage counsel on insider trading proceedings in Western Australia.
Jessica has strong connections in the life insurance industry which, combined with recent growth in our corporate practice, highlights our commitment to further develop the scope of our life insurance offering.
Managing partner Rebecca Kelly noted four partner and two special counsel appointments in the insurance practice over recent months.
The hire comes as Clyde & Co works to steady the ship after a wave of partner exits through 2024.
