Clyde & Co has hired disputes specialist Andrew Pullinger as a partner in Perth.
The move deepens the firm’s Australian disputes bench as WA’s energy and resources sector faces rising regulatory pressure.
Clyde & Co has bolstered its Australia disputes practice, appointing commercial litigator Andrew Pullinger as a partner in Perth.
He arrives from Campbells in the Cayman Islands, where he spent more than 12 years, moving through the ranks as senior associate, partner and consultant.
Now he returns home with a serious deal sheet in tow:
Leading the successful defence of HSBC in decade-long claims by a Madoff feeder fund seeking more than US$2bn in damages.
Representing a sovereign state in an €800m ICC arbitration over a major infrastructure project.
Defending a global accounting firm in US$300m professional negligence claims pursued through parallel arbitration and litigation.
Pullinger is admitted in Western Australia, England & Wales, the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands. He joins a team of nearly 50 Clyde & Co disputes lawyers across Australia.
Australia Managing Partner Rebecca Kelly said the hire lands at a pointed moment for the firm’s core sectors.
“Andrew’s appointment strengthens our disputes capability across our core sectors at a time of increased volatility and regulatory pressure. Clients require advisers who combine sector expertise with cross-border execution. As part of an integrated global platform, we are well placed to support complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes and risk,” she said.
It’s the second big lateral move for Clyde & Co recently, following the appointment of Sarah Wood from Gilchrist Connell as the firm’s new Employment practice leader in Sydney.
