The Brief:

  • Dentons nabs energy and projects partner Jack Brumpton from DLA Piper.

  • The Brisbane hire bolsters its national energy, resources and infrastructure capability.

Dentons has made a play for energy transition work, luring partner Jack Brumpton from DLA Piper to its Brisbane office.

Brumpton had been a partner at DLA since 2023.

He advises across energy, resources and infrastructure, covering project development, acquisitions and divestments, JVs, commercial contracting and regulatory and approvals frameworks.

His work includes projects across:

  • upstream oil & gas and LNG

  • renewables, hydrogen and battery storage

  • energy transmission and offshore wind

  • carbon markets and sustainable development

He’s also done a stint in-house at SunCable, advising on the Australia-Asia PowerLink Project.

The hire follows Dentons adding employment partner Kate Walawski in Perth earlier this year, as the firm continues building out its national offering.
