The Brief:
DLA Piper hires Ed Martin as a partner in its litigation and regulatory practice in Sydney.
He joins from Gadens, bringing deep regulator-facing and disputes experience.
Ed Martin is the newest partner in DLA Piper's Sydney litigation and regulatory team.
Martin joins from Gadens, where he spent seven years as a partner. He's dual-qualified across Australia and the UK, with stints at Gilbert + Tobin and Allens in Sydney and Herbert Smith in London. He kicked off his career as Associate to Justice DG Hill at the Federal Court.
He brings deep experience in commercial litigation and regulator-facing matters, including enforcement actions and cross-border investigations, working closely with ASIC, APRA and the ACCC.
Ed adds immediate strength to our litigation and regulatory practice in Sydney. He has strong experience across complex disputes and investigations and brings valuable insight into regulator-facing matters.
Martin started at the firm on 31 August, following DLA Piper’s recent hire of Nikki van der Meer in Perth.
Martin joins the DLA Piper partnership at an important time — earlier this year, we saw that partners voted to dissolve the firm’s Swiss verein in favour of a new global LLP under unified leadership.
