The Brief:
Johnson Winter Slattery appoints Jan Hards as partner and Head of AI, a newly created firmwide role.
The position combines AI strategy and client implementation with an M&A and private equity practice.
Johnson Winter Slattery has created a dedicated Head of AI role, appointing Jan Hards as partner to lead the firm's AI strategy.
It's a dual-focus position.
Hards will build out AI-enhanced tools for clients across the firm's core practice areas, including transactions, disputes and regulatory matters, while overseeing JWS's broader AI adoption strategy. He'll also pilot co-development projects with key clients.
On the corporate side, he'll continue advising on M&A, corporate governance, foreign investment and strategic advisory matters.
Managing partner Jeremy Davis said:
"This appointment reflects our commitment to embedding artificial intelligence at the heart of how we deliver legal services."
The move follows HSF Kramer's appointment of its first Global Chief AI Officer, Ilona Logvinova, late last year, as major firms race to install dedicated AI leadership at the top of the house.
