The Brief:

  • Legora has launches a new “operating system” for autonomous AI agents designed to execute end-to-end legal work

  • The launch follows Legora's acquisition of regulatory intelligence platform Graceview, as the new legal AI changes form

On stage at the Legora conference in London yesterday, CEO and co-founder Max Junestrand opened with a blunt declaration: “Legal AI is dead.”

What followed was the launch of the Legora aOS, an operating system built to orchestrate autonomous AI agents across end-to-end legal workflows, executing tasks in the background while lawyers review the results.

The pitch is less chatbot, more associate.

The system reviews documents, conducts legal research, drafts responses and handles repetitive admin, all under lawyer supervision.

The company’s flagship example: a contract redline lands at midnight, and by the time the lawyer sits down the next morning, the agent has reviewed every change, flagged issues and drafted a response.

The platform connects directly with document management systems, legal research databases and email, drawing on each firm’s playbooks, precedent libraries and client history.

The ceiling of what's possible has always been limited by human capacity. The Legora aOS changes that. It is the operating system that enables legal teams to operate with machine intelligence at a scale, speed, and quality that simply wasn't possible before.” Junestrand said at the conference.

The launch also follows Legora’s acquisition this week of Graceview, a regulatory horizon-scanning platform, adding real-time regulatory intelligence to the same workflow environment.

Legora also spotlighted its growing legal engineer team, lawyers and legal technologists embedded inside customer organisations to handle configuration and change management.

As the AI race continues to pick up pace, the leaders of the pack are even throwing out a heft price tag to attach top legal talent to its base.
