The Brief:

  • Maddocks has added Lisa Quilty as special counsel in Canberra

  • The ex-Mills Oakley partner and KWM lawyer brings 20 years’ experience.

Maddocks has bolstered its Canberra public law bench, hiring Lisa Quilty as special counsel.

Quilty joins from Mills Oakley, where she was a partner, and previously spent over a decade at King & Wood Mallesons in senior roles.

She brings more than 20 years’ experience across disputes and litigation. Her work spans claims management, insurance, public and product liability, workers’ comp, commercial disputes, PI and medical negligence.

Beyond practice, Quilty is a well-known figure in Canberra’s legal community, recently elected Vice President of the ACT Law Society after earlier serving as President and Council Member.

Disputes partner Rosalie Byrne said Quilty’s cross-jurisdictional experience and strength in both litigation and pre-litigation processes “make her a valuable asset to the firm and our clients.”
