The Brief:

  • NRF has hired Brad Robinson from Corrs as a banking and finance partner in Sydney.

  • The move strengthens NRF’s asset-based and structured finance capability.

Norton Rose Fulbright has snapped up Brad Robinson, appointing the former Corrs Chambers Westgarth partner to its Sydney-based banking and finance team.

Robinson led Corrs’ securitisation practice and brings a deep bench across asset-based, structured, corporate and project finance.

He regularly advises financial institutions, major corporates and government bodies. Robinson’s project finance work spans rail, roads, hospitals, schools, prisons, water infrastructure, social and affordable housing, and student and worker accommodation.

Robinson said he’s joining at a moment of structural change in credit markets, with regulation accelerating the shift away from banks towards non-bank lenders and private credit.

Asset-based finance has been at the core of this shift and we are experiencing unprecedented inflows of global capital looking to participate in Australian private credit opportunities.  The firm’s global platform and strength in asset-based and structured finance provides an ideal position from which to support my existing Australian clients and also to work with colleagues to assist clients across the globe looking to deploy capital in the Australian market.

Brad Robinson

The appointment follows NRF naming six new Australian partners late last year and integrating its Australian practice with the firm’s EMEA operations in June.
