The Brief:
Thomsons has nabbed partners from two firms in one hit, landing Liz Viant from MinterEllison and Lisa Harrington from Finlaysons.
The Adelaide double hire bolsters the firm’s property and employment benches.
Thomson Geer has bolstered its Adelaide office, snapping up partners from MinterEllison and Finlaysons in a double play.
Liz Viant joins the employment team from MinterEllison, bringing special counsel David Hunt and senior associate Shelini Hillier with her. Lisa Harrington crosses from Finlaysons to strengthen Thomsons’ property practice.
Viant covers enterprise bargaining, WHS, workplace disputes, investigations and government advisory work. She also handles sensitive workplace allegations, including sexual harassment, bullying, fraud and corruption matters.
Harrington brings over 15 years’ experience across complex property transactions, leasing, land development and subdivision, with a client base spanning hospitality and agriculture.
Chief executive partner Adrian Tembel said the hires reflect strong client demand in both practice areas.
“Lisa and Liz are both highly regarded lawyers with strong reputations in their respective markets and practices,” he said. “Lisa brings extensive commercial property and development experience and a strong client following, while Liz adds significant depth to our employment and workplace relations capability.”
