The Brief:
Hall & Wilcox has nabbed property and disputes partner James Forde from Vardon Legal to join its Adelaide office.
Forde brings his team of three, taking the office to 30 people.
Hall & Wilcox has snapped up property and disputes partner James Forde from Vardon Legal, bolstering its Adelaide bench with the hire.
Forde joins the firm’s property and projects team with more than 15 years' experience acting for major shopping centre owners, landlords, asset managers, insolvency practitioners and private commercial clients on leasing, enforcement and high-value property disputes.
He’s joined by special counsels Jessica McNamara and Trisha Alexopoulos, and lawyer Lucy Blenkiron, taking the Adelaide office to 30 people.
Chief Executive Partner Graydon Dowd said the hire is a two-way play — it bolsters the firm’s Adelaide offering and benefits both local and national clients. “His appointment allows our South Australian clients to draw on our national expertise, with benefits flowing both ways. Having a strong team on the ground in Adelaide will allow our national clients to take advantage of their familiarity with the local market, stakeholders, and conditions,” Dowd said.
The move follows Thomsons’ recent Adelaide double play, landing partners from MinterEllison and Finlaysons in one hit.
