The Brief:

  • Legora buys London’s Wexler, a fact intelligence platform used by Clifford Chance, Goodwin and HSF Kramer.

  • It’s Legora’s fifth acquisition this year, deepening its play into disputes work.

Legora is buying Wexler, the London-based platform that pulls verified facts out of huge document sets — the unglamorous but crucial end of disputes work.

Wexler’s tech takes a claim made by a witness or lawyer during a case and traces it back to the source document, flagging where it conflicts with the evidence. It does this across more than 1 million documents per case, built for litigators, arbitrators and investigators who need every fact traceable back to its source.

The company says this cuts manual review time by 75%. Its clients already include disputes teams at Clifford Chance, Goodwin and HSF Kramer.

“Every dispute and every investigation comes down to the facts, and finding them is always the most manual and expensive part of legal work,” said Legora CEO and co-founder Max Junestrand. “As agentic systems take on more of that work, fact queries won't just grow, they'll multiply by orders of magnitude. Wexler is the infrastructure built to handle that scale today.”

Wexler was founded in January 2023 by Gregory Mostyn and Kush Madlani. Since then it’s grown to a team of 18, with revenue up eightfold year-on-year and net revenue retention north of 400%.

Funnily enough, Wexler wasn’t on the market. Mostyn says he was fielding Series A offers when Legora came knocking. He and Madlani flew to Stockholm to meet the Legora team, and a smoked fish dinner with Junestrand settled it. Access to a platform with 1,500-plus customers was too good to pass up.

“Fact-lawyering is the most challenging part of disputes work: the endless, painstaking review needed to map the facts, the issues and the characters into a compelling theory of the case,” Mostyn said. “From a week-long investigation to a decade-long class action, building the case brain has never been harder, and it has never mattered more.”

The Wexler team becomes the first cohort at Legora’s new London engineering hub, which opened last month.

It’s the fifth deal in Legora’s 2026 buying spree, following Cadastral (real estate AI), Melbourne’s Graceview (regulatory horizon scanning), Qura (legal research) and Canada's Walter AI.

Rival Harvey is on its own acquisition roll, snapping up asset-management AI platform Benchmark earlier this month.
